Meatloaf Cordon Bleu combines classic meatloaf with the flavors of Chicken Cordon Bleu. Ground meats are stuffed with ham and Swiss cheese, then topped with a sweet and tangy glaze.

Ingredients

Produce

  • 1 onion
  • 2 cloves of garlic

Refrigerated

  • 1/2 pound Swiss Cheese
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup milk

Grocery

  • 1 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 oz ketchup
  • 8 oz tomato sauce
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 tbsp Spicy Brown Mustard

Meat

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1/2 pound ham off the bone

Spices

  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar

Instructions

Mix Meat

  • Dice the onion and combine with ground beef, egg, milk, breadcrumbs, salt, and pepper in a mixing bowl.
  • Mix thoroughly using your hands until evenly combined.

Layer & Roll Meat

  • Lay the meat mixture flat on a piece of plastic wrap or parchment paper.
  • Place thin slices of ham and shredded Swiss cheese on top, leaving a 1-inch border around the edges.
  • Roll the meat mixture into a tight cylinder, sealing the edges.
  • Transfer to a baking dish or loaf pan, seam side down.

Make Your Glaze

  • In a medium bowl, combine ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, and brown sugar.
  • Stir until well mixed.

Brush & Bake Meatloaf

  • After baking the meatloaf for 30 minutes at 350°F, brush the glaze mixture on top.
  • Continue baking for another 30 minutes. Optionally, reapply glaze after the first 15 minutes for a richer flavor
