A Crunchwrap Supreme is a dish that is offered by the fast food restaurant Taco Bell. It is a large, round tortilla that is folded and sealed to create a pocket, and it is filled with a variety of ingredients such as seasoned beef, nacho cheese, lettuce, diced tomatoes, and sour cream. The Crunchwrap is then wrapped in foil, and it is typically toasted or grilled to give the tortilla a crispy texture. The dish is served as a main course and it is considered a popular menu item at Taco Bell.

A typical taco seasoning blend typically contains a combination of the following ingredients:
Some taco seasoning blends may also contain additional ingredients like red pepper flakes or coriander. You can also adjust the seasoning to your taste by adding or removing ingredients. To be honest, I’ve never really cooked with many other taco seasonings aside from Old El Paso.
There are a few ways you can do this step. This method forces you to use more burrito tortillas, but you also don’t have to buy an extra package of taco tortillas. It’s completely up to you, but I’ve found this way to be reasonably easy to execute.
Place your tostada on your tortilla so you know the size of the tortilla you will need to cut around it.
Cut a circle tracing the tostada. Set aside the circle you cut out, for assembly.
In a large tortilla, begin to build out your crunchwrap supreme in the following order:
Jarred queso isn’t the most ideal purchase, but it’s convenient and is an easy substitute for Taco Bell’s nacho sauce they include in their recipe. So, for the sake of the convenience, I typically just use Tostitos Salsa Con Queso, I throw it in the microwave for a about 1 minute and it does the trick. It’s a nice combo of ooey gooey cheese, but finishes with a nice kick.
Once you’d piled up all of your desired ingredients into your large burrito tortilla, top it with your hand cut out tortilla.
Fold inwards and fry the bottom first on medium heat until golden brown. Flip and do the other side as well.
If you are struggling to get the tortilla to fold properly, you can always dab the outside of the tortilla with a little water. This will activate the gluten in the flour of the tortilla. Gluten is a protein that gives dough its elasticity and helps it to rise. When flour is mixed with water, the gluten proteins bond together and form a network that gives the dough structure.
This is why when you wet a tortilla it becomes more pliable and easier to roll or fold. Additionally, the moisture in the tortilla dough or on the surface of the tortilla makes it more sticky and easier to wrap around fillings. This allows the tortilla to hold the fillings in place, preventing them from falling out.
Cut the crunchwrap supreme in half, appreciate the glory of one of Taco Bell’s most famous creations. Enjoy!
The Crunchwrap Supreme was first introduced by Taco Bell in 2005. It is a large, folded tortilla filled with a variety of ingredients such as seasoned beef, nacho cheese sauce, lettuce, tomatoes, and sour cream. The Crunchwrap Supreme was created to offer a new, more portable and satisfying option for customers who were looking for a meal on the go.
The Crunchwrap Supreme was an instant hit and quickly became one of Taco Bell’s most popular menu items. The Crunchwrap Supreme has undergone small changes throughout the years, but the recipe has always remained the same: a crispy tostada shell in the center, surrounded by a soft flour tortilla, filled with ingredients such as beef, cheese, lettuce, and sour cream.
